I like those wheels!  👍

What do you do with the pecan logs?

Would probably make very attractive furniture or flooring.

Firewood.

NO! BBQ IS DISGUSTING!

In al seriousness, this has been a trial. I'm doing good, but things are tough. My drinking water usually comes from a well...with an electric pump. It doesn't look like we'll have power out here for a few weeks. I had the foresight to store some water, but it ran out early yesterday. I had to search for water for my family and the livestock. I found a washed out culvert about 1/2 a mile down the dirt road, and that's where our drinking water is coming from. It's stained brown from the tannin in the leaves on the forest floor that it filters through, and tastes oddly like tea. Of course, that really isn't odd because tea's main taste is...tannin.

Pecan is a very strange wood. Very hard, but brittle. It is actually easier to rip than crosscut, I think that's because the grain length is so short. It is pretty when dried. I have a small piece that I milled on the table saw some years back, to make into knife scales, but who knows where it is now.
