Ray Cecil
Ive owned two bullnose trucks now. Each have had door latching issues. New weatherstrip always makes it worse. Tips, tricks, anyone got any ideas on making doors shut normally without slamming? Ive seen these thin metal doors with so many dents from someone pushing on the door handle to get it to latch....am I the only one?
Steve83
It's because the hinges wear, and very few people take the time to either replace/repair them, or to re-align the doors to the cab. Read this caption & the NEXT several: https://supermotors.net/getfile/482890/thumbnail/1992-bronco-body.jpg There's a link to a writeup on the process. Rembrant
Thanks steve, Ill read through it later. While on the topic of doors and weatherstrip, do any of you have any recommendations on complete kits to buy? Has anybody tried any of the kits available on Ebay? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-1986-Ford-F150-F250-F350-Pickup-Truck-Complete-Weatherstrip-Kit-Chrome-Trim/254179400050?hash=item3b2e45d972:g:lAAAAOSwExtcm6FQ https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fairchild-Industries-Belt-Weatherstrip-Window-Channel-Door-Seal-Kit-KF1006-13/223328872772?fits=Make%3AFord&epid=251046394&hash=item33ff702944:g:eZsAAOSwbjNcP6vQ Etc... My trucks needs new door and window seals, and I'd like to get it all in one kit if possible. I'd love to hear what kits are good or a recommendation on what kit(s) to buy. I've bought the '87-96 versioin of this JBG weatherbelt set: https://shop.broncograveyard.com/1980-1986-Ford-Bronco-and-F-Series-Truck-Window-Weatherstrip-Kit-set-of-4/productinfo/34386A/ And they do offer a larger set: https://shop.broncograveyard.com/80-86-Ford-Bronco-and-Truck-Front-Door-Kit/productinfo/36021A/ But I don't like buying a bunch of unknown parts together. I'd rather choose each one, if I know which ones are good, and what's in the set.

I bought a set from these folks for my 1992 Bronco.https://www.ebay.com/str/weatherstripspecialists/Ford-trucks/_i.html?_storecat=2295485018 Worked good. The sweep seals move around a little but I think it's the door panel. I bought a set from the Bronco Graveyard for my 1986 F250 that I have not installed yet. I have seen it posted LMC seals do not last too long and I don't know who makes them. Anyone check out Denis Carpenter for seal kits? I don't remember if I have in the past or not at this point I do like the full set from JBG, throw in vent window rubbers and rear glass and you get everything covered from the looks of it. I purchased this one from rock auto, FAIRCHILD KF100613 Belt, Channel, Seal Kit Info Left & Right. I have read good things about the bronco graveyard kit but with the shipping to Canada, the kit was expensive. Install was fairly straightforward, I used a few tips from the service manual though.
