Wood Bed 1981

I finished the new oak bed today. The boards have been ready for a while, but I was waiting for winter to pass. My 11 year old daughter helped put all those bolts in.

I bought the oak at Home Depot. Bought the strips and bolts from NPD. I bought the router on Amazon and it came with a guide attachment (Bosch Colt Palm Grip PR20EVSK 5.6 Amp 1-Horsepower Fixed-Base Variable-Speed Router with Edge Guide). The stain came from Walmart. Clear coat is Rust-Oleum Varathane 250241H 1-Quart Classic Clear Water Based Outdoor Spar Urethane, Satin Finish... and I'm not to sure about it... I'll keep a close eye on it and try something else if the 6 coats wear off.

Under the two rows of eye hooks are two 1 x 3 in oak, painted black, that are full width of bed. I have a couple small dirt bikes that I'll tie down.

I can't think of anything else. Let me know if you have questions. I picked the black colors, didn't want red or stainless steel, and I like the result.

Zach! That's a wonderful job. But, are you telling us that you just bought the router? Meaning that this is all new to you?

In any event, that's a beautiful job, and one you are surely, and rightly proud of. And, your daughter looks like she really had a blast. You will both remember this for quite some time. :nabble_smiley_good:

That's right. I had to learn how to use a router. This is my first wood working project. The parking garage in one of the pictures is my second. It needs a little roof still. That is left over oak from the truck. It will be stained the same color.

You learn quickly. Well done!
