Reborn84f150 Posted September 8 Share Posted September 8 Hello everybody, I have a 1984 F150 with 4.9 L. And I converted it from three speed automatic to a five speed manual and my starter went. I pulled the starter off and there was two wires on it. My starter has a place for wire. Can somebody please tell me where I should put the second wire. ArdWrknTrk Posted September 8 Share Posted September 8 First off, if you changed from automatic to manual you need a new starter, because an automatic starter will NOT disengage from a flywheel. The starter will eat itself as soon as the engine is running. Second, I'm assuming that you are talking about the engine ground cable. Hopefully, in a week, when we move this platform to InVision this will become completely redundant because the system will be automated and new members will be sandboxed until they agree to the TOU and complete their profile.
