ArdWrknTrk
As some of you may already know, I have big problems getting pages and Word documents to load from this site. So, I can view this PDF illustration but I can't get the parts lists to load. (I need a complete number for 4670 85/ Ford WDD Non- Locking 10.25 Full Float Axle) Parts list 258.... This little slinger was chewed to death by the pinion splines when I blew up my rear end. It slipped through the cracks when I clamored to order gears, shims and bearings. Interesting failure analysis on this one.... 🧐 More telling is the pinion shim! It's obviously spun. (The faces of the NEW Koyo bearings are ground completely flat, as is the back of the pinion gear. Yet, this thing has spun between the inner race (that is pressed on) and the gear itself... Since I have all OEM parts, I'm going to start with the idea that shims are to correct for vagiaries of case machining, and use that as a baseline. If I can't get a good pattern I'll torch the race back off and correct the shim(s) Thanks
Gary Lewis
Jim - I think what you need is D5AZ 4670-A Slinger (pinion shaft oil). But here's a snippet of the page to make sure:

ArdWrknTrk
Yeah, that's definitely what I'm describing.... Thank you! Now the race to find one! BTW, best I can tell, it's a 0.020 shim under the pinion bearing race.

ArdWrknTrk
Good luck! Hey Gary, do you think you can get me a number for that 0.020" shim?
Gary Lewis
Hey Gary, do you think you can get me a number for that 0.020" shim? Jim - we are traveling and I don’t bring my tablet and just have my phone. And on it I guess I’m seeing what you’ve been seeing - I get “Request is blocked” or “A problem repeatedly occurred”. No matter how many times I try or whether I go landscape or portrait I get one or the other of those messages. We hope to be home this evening and I can do it then. But can you tell me the base part number from the drawing?

It's between the root of the pinion gear and the race. # 4663
Gary Lewis
Sorry, I didn't realize... It's between the root of the pinion gear and the race. # 4663 Well, good news and bad. I had saved parts list 258 on my One Drive so was able to look at it here. But 4663 is part of kit 4209 and is not available separately, at least from what this says. Sorry! It shouldn't be too hard to find a driveline shop here in New Haven. If not, McMaster can get one to me.....
