viven44
Well I got a Marti report on my truck to see what's up and I was surprised to find that my truck and I are both naturalized US citizens. I noticed it was equipped with a metric speedometer, but tracks in miles.. I took a test lap this morning to be sure :) Anyone deal with a metric speedometer before ? The speedometer shown in your photo is the "normal" one for trucks sold in the USA. The following is an example of the one sold for locations which favor the metric system. https://www.ebay.com/itm/374733315836?epid=1625457628&hash=item573fd89efc:g:s6oAAOSwB1tkejg0&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0FeGgc3cvemhC%2BnWuV6sklrH6xImjgHEQ3JP6ReqjYYiYYs5u4x%2BQHiZofQzd9550cjNyzjQRSwIoVgHpOexd49iI4GZLUkTzKSl6w4LJuog%2FdaWTPUfKBDzgZ0Snby3kW%2FeOJMNU%2BchHo1RdCQXQ5wNHpeze3QtwX0ZNXhcUXt%2BZ2zWwaYL9sw5ymzOMiAvxUSbx1eEGOHZ50brzo%2BQzZp%2FY3V1gwPsfsARjWIxJQbDPfpHWl86FRSGX2vlvUknE%2FAKjs3m3103stEkbLIyaPM%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5L3vOGuYw https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/s6oAAOSwB1tkejg0/s-l1600.webp

I was struggling to find pictures and know what to tell Vivek about the speedo. But let's put the picture here 'cause at some point that advert will be taken down and no one will know what the metric speedo looks like. Vivek - See why I suggested posting on here. These guys know far more than I do, and collectively we know a LOT.

On the other hand, I am jealous that the metric odometer can go to 621370 miles !!
BigBrother-84
Anyone deal with a metric speedometer before ? I do. This is the one we need here in Canada, at least to drive comfortably having the big numbers corresponding to the speed limits. When trying to replace, much more difficult to find then US mph ones. What’s the question?

Not always… I found this metric with tripometer on eBay, but like the US ones, one number is missing. Can’t reach 100,000 km. A trick to stay young? One of the changes I added to Darth was a later dash and steering column. The later dash has an 85 mph speedometer, but the odometers (main and trip) can be switched between Miles and Kilometers. Here is Darth's about 15,000 miles ago:
Nothing Special
One of the changes I added to Darth was a later dash and steering column. The later dash has an 85 mph speedometer, but the odometers (main and trip) can be switched between Miles and Kilometers. Here is Darth's about 15,000 miles ago: And if Darth's is a similar vintage to my '97, while it has that 6th digit before the decimal point, it only goes up to 399999.9 miles. Instead of rolling to 400000.0 it will then go to (I think) 100000.0. I guess Ford could save a penny or two on each odometer and figured their trucks weren't good for over 400000 miles anyway??? BigBrother-84
[…] and figured their trucks weren't good for over 400000 miles anyway??? In the same way. there was a well known company which also thought that any of the computers running their OS were supposed to work beneath December 31 1999. So why to allow it?
