Ifitaintbroke
Sorry, but Huck's steering shaft is going in 'Lil Blue, my SiL's 83. As for Dorman 31008 replacing E8TZ 3B676-A, not a chance. The Dorman unit is to rebuild the rag joint on a steering shaft, and an E8TZ 3B676-A is a complete steering shaft. And I'm not even sure the Dorman unit is the right diameter to rebuilt the rag joint on that shaft. Sorry so late, been working. I didn't exactly mean that 31008 was a replacement for the whole shaft, but that the oe number was listed with it. Hopefully I'll be going to the junkyard in the next few days to find another shaft. Ok, different subject now. I got the wire shield in. Here's what that looks like: (For some reason this one is blurry.) And I've got the firewall brace lined up for drilling: And the msd box under the seat: Seat is not bolted down. Just put it back in to keep it out of the weather. Tomorrow, will call DRB or Bluetop and see if I can send the core first to avoid core fee. Gary, isn't that what you did?

Gary Lewis
Well, I'd rather have my old box back anyway. Wonder what the turnaround time is. I sent a spare steering box in to prime the pump. I think mine went out on Monday and I got the same one back on Tuesday, meaning 8 days later. But they got it on Wednesday and it was to go out on Thursday. However they had a blizzard with 12+ inches of wet snow so the UPS truck couldn't get to them to pick it up until Friday.

Oh yes, Blue Top has the DRB bearing for $65 if I remember correctly, and DRB sells it for $70 + shipping. So just buy the bearing from BT and have them put it in the box and you'll pay less and won't have a shipping charge.
