66gtk
I had a lot of fun with the '83 at the local car show yesterday. People just love seeing these as we all remember them, but few are left. Lot's of nice conversations with all who appreciate them.
FuzzFace2
Nice looking truck. You dont see many of the 80 - 86 Ford trucks around so when one shows up people like to talk about them. Today I had 1 guy with his (teen?) daughter that said when he met her mom he owned a 83 F150 PU Just as I was leaving another guy that is having running issues with his truck. I hope I gave him information to get it fixed. Yesterday I also had a benefit show, 70 miles away with 148 cars, trucks and bikes 3 of us club members. I took 1st in "farm truck" class They did say they had to come up some crazy classes but a win is a win. Then went to a "cruise in" with the wife and dinner. Other car club members and wives were there also. Today had a BSA troop 365 show 30 miles away that 7 of us club members went to. 3 of us took awards, best old truck 54 3100 chevy, a 94 Corvet and my 81 F100 for best newer truck. We are all going to this show next year again! Do you have Cars & Coffee in your area? We have them around here 3 different weekends a month. They are nice to go to also. BigBrother-84
Lot's of nice conversations with all who appreciate them. Troy - Not a joke, almost all the time I go somewhere with Big Brother it takes me twice the time, especially at gas station. Perfect strangers come and start a friendly conversation about the truck. That's a running gag in my family, wife and kids (they're adult) just can't understand that social phenomenon, getting new friends each time I get out with Big Bro. Personally, I appreciate it! I took 1st in "farm truck" class They did say they had to come up some crazy classes but a win is a win. Dave, a "best sport car" prize would be surprising, no? This demonstrates that, in the collective imagination, "ol' Ford pickup" is often synonymous to "nice ol' farm truck". Congrats! A win is a win, like you say! Not only gas stations but when I take the trash to the dump. When I tell them I built the truck to driveand take the trash to the dump they all say "It's to nice to use for trash runs" Dave ----
