Hi Dave, I got the LED's from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y1CFAB2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They come in a box of 20 (pic below) and to my surprise they do dim, I wasn't expecting that. the pic was with them all the way up which is just right for me.

The ash try has some light coming through a hole but it looks like it's just getting its light from the A/C and heat control panel I took a pic, it's coming out through the little round hole in the back.

The wiper light I'll have to dig into?

The shift light is on the left end of the bezel and the 4X4 is on the right but mine didn't even have the light sockets for the holes and the printed circuit doesn't even go to them, not even on the new one I got, but it come off an auto.

Maybe someone will have the answers for your other questions.. But here are more pics. Also the last one I put on a battery disconnect I got at Autozone it sure helped when I was wiring and trouble shooting the DS2 swap.

Thanks for the link I will check it out when I have time.

As for the shit light the 1 bezel I am going to use I checked and it does not have anything there. I should say it has a black blank cover that does not let light thru.

I think it came out of the parts truck, an 81 F100 Ranger.

If I can find the other from my truck, 81 F100 custom, I will check it but it had paint all over it.

Dave,

The shift(up) indicator light only showed up in 1984, and maybe 1985. Gary can explain. My 1984 has the "Shift" indicator lens, non operational. It might have also been there in 1983, but 1984 for sure.

Here's the entry from the Year-To-Year Differences page on the Electrical tab:

Up-shift indicator: There is some confusion here. The Master Parts Catalog shows that E3TZ 15A801-B (which should be marked E3TB 15A808-AA) is the "M/T w/up shift indicator". And it shows that to be for the "F150 (4x2) - - 6 cyl. 300 w/M/T fuel saver or TOD trans" for 1983 only. But, there is no mention of a shift indicator in the 1983 Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM). However, both the 1984 and 1985 EVTM's do show that a Shift Indicator Lamp was used in those years.

And that's all I know.

I said I would check mine before we knew the dates. Because I did check I thought I would post what I found on my 81 LOL

I wonder how far after 84 they still used the shift light? Not that I would need / use it.

What I have seen in the junkyards is 80-82 bezels have that indicator space with a blank/black lens. 83/84 has the shift indicator regardless of the truck (I have a diesel bezel with it) and 85/86 that space is occupied with the “emissions” indicator light.

Good point, Steve. I haven't gotten that TSB on yet, so had not read it.

But, we don't have 82-25-16, which apparently has a Figure 8 which shows which calibration got the light. Do you have that TSB?

No, you have my lists: '83 & '84 only. I thought you had '78-82.

Duh! Yes, I have your list. And, I have my list. And I have both of them on this page. And I'm the one with that TSB. :nabble_smiley_blush:

But you're NOT gonna post the answer to your question, or Figure 8, or a link to the TSB (assuming you've scanned & uploaded it)? :nabble_smiley_thinking:

If you haven't scanned it, don't worry about it - I'm just harassing you! :nabble_anim_blbl:
