  1. Indeed. I also wonder how much I need it. Been running without it since I read this and haven't really noticed anything.
  2. Happy Thanksgiving! Thankful for the many blessings!
  3. A friend I was in the Marine Corps with had a 180 Turbo, man that thing would fly!
  4. I see. I have a electrically operated vacuum switch on standby, in case I wanted to go that route. Then I could actuate it anytime I wanted. I think the F250 is much better as lebaron said (I think), cools really well. I was assuming the "bigger" tubed A/C works better. If drilling that control will work, that is cool!
  5. I used a NAPA as shown in the link. Equivalent to a Motorcraft YG350. Hooked in the Max A/C vacuum line on my Bronco. I might put one on the F250. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_6601294
  6. I asked about fuel pressure in the carb post, don't know why I didn't check my manual! However my truck doesn't have a Tank Selector Relay.
  7. My 1986 F250 has electric pumps in each tank, 19 gallons each. Steel tanks. It has the "hot fuel" system. I have A/C which I understand is why it has the "hot fuel" system. It is a non-catalyst truck, 8800 GVWR. I believe the last year for any non-catalyst trucks. Has a 4180 Holley (Motorcraft) carburetor. You probably already know this, but thought I would throw it in. Thanks!
  8. Thank you Gary and lebaron! I'll have to decide what to do. Haven't been around carbs much lately, a lot of how it acts is operator induced. What I've learned lately is don't touch that throttle unless absolutely necessary. And only one pump in the morning!
  9. Now you guys got me thinking new Edelbrock! Gary, do you know which adapters I need to go from the stock Holley to an Edelbrock on my 460, C6? I see a 1483 and a 1495 on their website. Also, does anyone know the fuel pressure on the "hot fuel" setup?
  10. I watched an episode of B*tchin Rides where Dave Kindig made a wood looking instrument panel with paint and a paper towel, dabbed it after he applied the paint, on a metal panel. Turned out really cool. I think dipping "wood" be better though.

  12. It sounds like the new voltage regulator isn't controlling the output from the alternator. Or when the VR gets warmed up it loses control of the volts. I use Firefox so I can see the signatures.
  13. My 1986 (styleside) has a bumper and the mount under the bed, so I would look at all you can till you find one. I want to keep mine.
  14. I'm interested. 1986 F250 if my signature doesn't show, thanks.
  15. Welcome! That handshake thing is cool!
  16. It has 4x4 on each side. That normal? Nice find. I'd like to find a good one for my 86.
