  1. What Gary said I always use a larger box wrench over the end of the wrench to get more lavage. Might have to make something like that with scrap I have around. Dave ---- That is slick! I used two combination wrenches if I needed.
  2. Yes, thanks! I like your one tire jacked test.
  3. That’s good. And as Tyler said I’ve spent some money with RA because of mistakes. I feel it’s cheaper to buy local and support them and return face to face, or mask to mask!
  4. Interesting. I was wondering about that but couldn’t tell from the pictures. But I don’t know if I’ve seen a 460 with a MAF. Your circle helps!
  5. I have considered a posi or Truetrac several times. I’ve read that when in those situations with a Truetrac a little brake will help get more traction to the best side. Do you agree? And I’m not talking rock climbing, but snow, ice, sand, etc. I think perhaps I’m better off with an open diff on my long wheelbase truck. Then I drive my 92 Bronco with the posi and I like it in the snow and ice. I lean towards the Truetrac because of no clutches to replace and they are tough.
  6. Those are cool Cory! I hadn’t seen those. Mine broke but I had one that David found NOS on ebay. As I read this I was thinking they should have left it like it was.

  8. I had a 1356 go out on an 88 F250 with the 7.3 diesel I used to own. Wouldn’t shift into 4WD. But, the truck spent a lot of it’s life as a private contractor wild land fire fighting rig. I met the owners son one day at the parts store. He was telling me stories I didn’t want to hear. I have a 208 in my 86, it’s fine, it whines, but I like it and hopefully that’s a trait!
  9. Awesome! That’s great if your thinking it’ll be great on your trip. Success!
  10. That’s interesting! I like it! Good thinking!
  11. Yes, and now that the prices are going up, people with clapped out, POP*, 70’s and 80’s vehicles, and to me in particular, trucks and SUV’s if you will, want way too much. If they get it, good for them I guess. *Piece Of Poop, family site and all!
  12. I had an 87 4Runner. I was amazed at how hard it was to find one that wasn’t “molested”. I bought it in 2013 with about 230,000 miles on it. Paid $3800 for it. It was just hard for me to get in and out of it especially in the winter. Bad joints.
  13. I bought it. Looks like the right one. Haven’t checked the number yet. Made an offer, they accepted. $10 total. Some of this stuff I get if it’s inexpensive, just in case. ETA, part number checks out. I used this great website with 80-86 Ford Truck information!
  14. Ha! Cool! That’s where I’ll get a hot glue gun, mrs grumpin’s stash!
  15. Nice! Is that hot glue or RTV that you put the lenses in with? Somebody, before I owned it, glued mine in and it looks like a two year old did it. Drives me nuts! Need to do that to mine.
  16. “Pulley tap” Never heard of them either, that I can remember. Heard of the three you showed. Cool! Interesting!
  17. I agree, it’s a bit high. Prices seem to be creeping up. But man, lately I’ve seen rigs from the 70’s and 80’s that are worn and torn with a list of problems, and they’re asking $6500 to $8500. Entertaining I guess, makes me laugh!
