Bob, I have the premium Warns also. New truck to me this winter so I finally had to lock the front end. My old cold fingers didn't like it. I remembered they used to have some handles for the lockouts. Put the barrel clips in the hole first. the pins on badge will spread them out a little to hold in the fender.

But I totally trust him and his judgment. If you happen to bring it to him, let me know I work second shift and I could meet you up there some morning. As far as Crate motor goes. We can't get remaned engines through work here. There is a terrible parts shortage on internal engine parts. Haven't checked availability on a crate engine though. Go to summit racing and search for Ford 351 Crate Engine and look at all the ones that are not available. If your building you own engine, Camresearchcorp.com will break in your cam on a machine without it being in the engine. I would have put in a link but work has that site blocked for some reason.

Are you reusing the same gear?

By the pics, it looks like the dipstick tube is leaking. See how clean the aluminum case is under it, compared to the case around it? The case under the shift linkages looks dry.

You didn't say what year van? most of the later stuff 90's up the engine comes out the front. The bulkhead on top in front of radiator will come out in the center. Then just unhook everything and come out the front. Last 460 out of a van I pulled engine tranny and all.

I have had that issue on my Bronco. I put a floor jack or bottle jack under the steering knuckle and put the weight of the truck on it and then tightened the nut.
