  1. I'm glad to see that you can choose a page but I still wish posts were numbered within threads. It was very frustrating to search a term on the old forum and have to row through 537 chronological hits -a dozen at a time- to find the post you wanted from earlier in the week
  2. All these trucks have a wider track in the front. You can look in the body builders handbook and check exactly what the difference is. I don't have that number in my head but I know it is so the front wheels can steer without rubbing the front leaf springs.
  3. Welcome! That's a very nice Bronco and a beautiful vista! The chrome wheels look sharp.
  4. I can see how the plastic moulded gears might lap themselves in or the cable itself may begin to lose the set it took while all coiled up. (I certainly know that feeling when I stand and begin to walk around after sitting too long! 👴
  5. Was it not possible to use Apple emoji on Nabble? Gboard always worked for me, but they're all internationally recognized
  6. I think a lot of "The Next Generation" choose to go digital because they can't grasp that analoge either works or it doesn't (but there's always evidence) Where as binary can be corrupted and not have any outward symptoms.
  7. Here in the States they're 160# a piece..... so like 75 kilos. That's a good party! 🥴
  8. Welcome Oly! That's mighty impressive. If a keg of beer weighs the same as it does here in the States you have almost 875 kilos in a short bed! 😳 We never did get the cross flow or the Cleveland engines here in the US, but other than right hand drive the chassis and body are much the same. Edit: I miscounted, there are 14 not 12 kegs of beer. 🤯
  9. Oh yes I would definitely investigate the low voltage wiring, or ask the man who did it, since you seem to be in contact with him. The factory Ford ignition coil is powered through a resistance wire, so the onboard circuit is always going to be lacking.
  10. Here's the photo: You have an HEI distributor, the entire ignition system is there, but they do need WAY more power than is available from the stock Ford wiring. Perhaps the ignition coil in the cap is overheating? It's not good to do that repeatedly. Gary has some instructions for adding a fused relay that will provide enough current.
  11. That doesn't really make sense, because it would be stopped up at any time the engine is running, and would go away as soon as you shut it off. I think Gary may be right and you have the infamous TFI module overheating. This typically manifestes when you go to accelerate, like merging onto another road and the truck just conk's out. If this is the case, a new PS TFI module will fix it, but the ultimate solution is to relocate it to the radiator support or inner fender.
  12. I'm surprised at the D70, and that there's no option for 3.73:1 I would definitely like that as a ratio in my truck but I'm not about to change TWO axles to get there..
  13. Welcome! Unfortunately you've arrived in the midst of our annual gathering, so I expect most of the brain trust is going to be busy today judging trucks, exchanging stories and with the awards banquet.... (today) I'm not the 300 expert, but it is real interesting that the truck will simply stop, and needs to cool off before it will restart. Is it that the starter won't turn the engine over? Or does it turn over fine but won't catch and start running? Your Carter YFA is one of the simplest carburetors ever. It should be easy to adjust the choke so you don't have to rev it until it warms up
  14. Good morning Jim, greetings from your Northeast! When I heard about this Hoonigan situation, my brain automatically switched to economics and demographics lol. Can you tell that I'm a Freakonomics and Econtalk fan and regular listener???...lol. I hate seeing companies fail, especially if they're involved in my beloved hobby;). And yet, a lot of them DESERVE to fail!
  15. Funny, I thought Hoonigan was mainly into making windshield banners and decals lol. It's a catchy word in the drift era...and it sort of became a thing all on its own. They'll likely restructure, and likely drop or eliminate some of the brands. I'm a fan of the old brands...or brands that make wheels for old vehicles. American Racing, Pro-Comp, US Mags, etc. Any company that is still making wheels in the 5x5.5 pattern is supplying an "old" market...I hope they don't kill them off tbh. In fact, 5x5.5 aside, any company that is still making 15" wheels is supplying an old market lol. Didn't I read that they also owned 4WheelParts also? At the risk of getting into politics...and please don't...but with the increased costs of everything these days, from groceries to gas, the aftermarket companies must be taking a hit. We have been told repeatedly (in the industrial world I live and work in) that a recession was coming, but it still hasn't really shown up. But at the same time, anecdotally at least, people do seem to have less money for "mods" these days. Economy issues aside...what about demographics? Are the younger folks still as interested in cars & mods as we are (and were)? I wonder about that. Two very good friends of mine had old cars that they bought 30+ years ago (one a Corvette, and the other a Trans Am). Both guys held on to these cars for many many years hoping the sons would have interest in them. Unfortunately they did not, and the cars were eventually sold. Were they cheesy malaise era cars? Yes, sure...but they were still the hotrods of their day regardless. Anyway...I wonder about this stuff sometimes...maybe I think too much lol. The demographics are changing fast. We are swinging from a Boomer society to a Millennials dominated society almost overnight (Us Gen-X kids were kind of forgotten in the middle lol). There...time for my 2nd coffee;). Cheers gentlemen! Good morning Cory! I don't think you can mention old brands without including Cragar, Western and Halliburton... Cyclone, Hurricane and Torque Thrust are all iconic styles. I'm waiting for reports to trickle in from the event at the mothership. 👂
