Pick your brains on old part identification

Looks homemade. Maybe a resistor for the coil lead and the blue cylinder looks to have vacuum ports? -

Both are very cheap so I'll have a running 300 for much less than rebuilding the trashy 302 that was in this truck:). Torque monster! There is a reason the 300 was offered by Ford in the F600s and the 302 was never offered in anything larger than the F250.

And, with the 240 head, the converted 300 will have ~.5 pt. higher compression ratio! Notice that on a 240 engine, the harmonic balancer has 2 grooves while the 300 normally has 3.

The ideal situation would be to find NOS Nutmeg colored for power door locks and power windows, but you may have to go with the one NOS previously shown or find used ones of the incorrect color but with the power door locks and power windows and then paint to match. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-1986-Ford-Truck-Bronco-Door-Panel-Blue-Woodgrain-Chrome-Inserts-Pass-F-150/223180348463?hash=item33f695dc2f:g:C~QAAOSwKA5butZN Or, possibly aftermarket? https://coverlaymfg.com/i-23896567-coverlay-12-45ctf-dbr-replacement-door-panels.html

What mods are required? Can you simply install the 1987-up pan? Yes, Cory. The 1986 and older had raised areas around each of the bolt holes for the old style [4 pieces] gasket. All one has to do is file the raised area off [side grinder] and you are ready to go.

I was affraid of that. If the oil pan is removed, consider modifying the oil pan to accept the 1987 and later 1 piece oil pan gasket.

To remove the oil pan, loosen the motor mounts and transmission mount. Raise the engine and place 2X4 blocks to keep in place.
