  1. I think you are confused. The ones I mentioned are OMC ones. Outboard Marine Corp. But if you want OKC ones they'll just be Thunder, not Blue Thunder.
  2. A coworker of mine said he used to call them “hippy trucks” when he was a kid because they looked like they had hips. The new blue paint sure did show up nice in that picture. There must be a 1000 pics of my truck on here lol so I’ll bow out and let one of the others showcase their pride and joy! I nominate this pic of David/1986F150Six's truck. I love the "sunburst" effect.
  3. Yes, you may be able to order it. But stay dry - it is gonna get cold as well as wet.
  4. Our member Matt Wood, from the UK, has asked me for pics of the glove box light. Turns out that one of the screws holding the light in Big Blue is stripped such that it won't back out, so I did my best w/o fully removing it. But if more pics are needed please let me know. And, do y'all think this needs to be on a page in Documentation/Electrical? Easy enough to do, so.... First, here's the glove box latch, w/o switch: Then here's a shot from the left front: Right front: And from the rear: And, to complete the documentation, here's the wiring schematic:
  5. Let's see if this pic helps. I had a hard time getting closer, sorry.
  6. That's Jim's, and mine didn't have the extension. But I think the openings have the cutouts for the extension tube.
  7. There are better pics, I'm sure, but Jim is running cast aluminum ones from a 460 in a boat. From OMC. I sold a pair like them to Eli/SmokenChoken at the show last year for $100 IIRC. Don't know if he's used them, but he's not too far from you in Peru, KS.
  8. Thanks. Our next door neighbor, a nurse, here in OK is in NJ fighting the virus.
  9. Seems like things are going well. I think everyone has a list, but if you are using the truck you are well ahead of me.
  10. That's a shame, but these aren't good times. Especially in NYC or NJ right now. Good luck, and stay safe.
  11. He's the pro and surely has had this happen before. I'd see what he says, but I'll bet he has a good plan.
  12. The wood is much more in keeping with a Bullnose truck. Well done!
  13. What about us having a window sticker? Angelo has drawn up the two below, but you are free to add pics of more, describe possible ones, or even suggest modifications to Angelo's. Let the creative juices flow! This poll will be open for two weeks, meaning through Sunday the 26th.
  14. Youse guys keep talking about all of this work, but where are the pics? I want to enjoy the work vicariously - meaning without working on my part. I share plenty. Your turn!
  15. It is nice, and has a nice price. But without A/C it wouldn't be fun to drive way down here. Pretty basic truck. Just the way some like it.
  16. Cute, but not my cup of tea. Especially at that price. Wait a bit and the price will come done, I'm sorry to say.
  17. Cool! We could have a contest of different designs. And, then vote for the one we like best and maybe have some made. What do you think, Angelo? This was your idea.
  18. Here's where I fixed the problem with the floor: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Dad-s-Truck-Build-tp7104p27425.html
  19. Didn't get much done on the truck today, but I did get to Zoom with my grandkids. Anyway, I did drill and tap the frame and frame liner. Man, that is a pain to do 'cause you can't get to it very easily. And, because it is so thick. There must be 3/8" of metal in there. And, I crimped a new connector on the #2 cable and installed it. I'm quite confident that the aux battery is now well and truly grounded to the frame - especially given the serrated nut on the bottom of that bolt. And, with the anti-seize it won't be rusting any time soon. And yes, I used a G8 3/8-16 bolt. My reasoning was that if I'm going to drill a hole in the top flange of the frame I want it to contribute to the strength. So it is torqued down tightly and the serrated nut is tight as well, thereby clamping the liner a bit tighter to the frame.
  20. I was actually more worried about damaging the cowl; that metal is thin and floppy. My paint is shot in any case, another scrape on the hood wouldn't be a big deal, but I managed to avoid it anyway. I'm still hoping to repaint the truck this year, although with all the economic uncertainty I may need to put that off a bit longer...we shall see. But that's NOT the way the antenna is supposed to be installed. Did you truck ever make it to Florida? No...but as I've documented elsewhere in this thread, Florida Man does have a brother Oklahoma Man who is also in the business of abusing trucks. Maybe even multiple brothers (Oklahoma Men?) - one who worked at Don Thornton Ford, and another one that worked at whatever hack audio shop my grandmother took the truck to to get the radio added. But I do not know what the red thing is. Do you have vents in the kick panels? If not, pull the kick panel and the plate behind it to see what's there. And, you may be able to clean things out that way as well. Surprisingly, those red things *are* the kick panels. I had them out last year for cleaning, but I didn't recall the protrusion that can be seen in the photo. Plus, in my mind's eye the kick panels were farther down; they are in fact near the floor, but the floor rises up at the front of the cab. Big 'duh' on my part here. I may pull them again to do more cleaning; I cleaned out behind them when I had them out last time, but I don't recall if I was able to reach all the way down. Could be a job for that skinny kid of mine, hmmm. Speaking of cleaning and the future avoidance thereof...have you (or anyone reading this) ever applied window screen to the underside of the cowl panel, as I've heard done? Seems like a good solution, I'm just wondering what the best way to apply it is. I haven't done the screen, but plan on it. My paint/body man said there's a black plastic screen that he has used.
  21. What faux-pas? (At almost 73 I have a very short memory. I think it used to be better, but can't remember. ) Yes, I'll be happy to get pics of the fuse box and see if we can figure out how to get the inserts out. I don't know, but I'm sure we can do it. But, it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I was going to take pics today, but we got to Zoom with our grandkids several times and - I forgot. As for the site, you are welcome. I've vowed not to look things up in the factory shop manual or master parts catalog w/o posting it, and I dislike answering people's questions time after time. So the site has grown from those efforts. Anyway, at 10 in the morn Siri is set to remind me to check the fuse box. (There are ways around short memories.)
  22. Welcome! Glad you joined, Chad. How 'bout placing your name in your sig? That way we can call you by name, which makes it more personal. Also, we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu, and I'd be happy to add you - with your concurrence. Can't wait to see the pics!
  23. That's a big YES! Big clearance problems. I had to cut the floor out at the rear of the bump/hump over the transmission and graft another on to take the hump back 2". If you are considering that, graft that part off the '95. If you look you'll see that they extended that hump on the later trucks.
  24. Glad you got the cowl off w/o damaging the hood. That's tough to do. But that's NOT the way the antenna is supposed to be installed. Did you truck ever make it to Florida? As for the debris, that's pretty much normal. But I do not know what the red thing is. Do you have vents in the kick panels? If not, pull the kick panel and the plate behind it to see what's there. And, you may be able to clean things out that way as well.
  25. Welcome, Cliff! Glad you, finally joined! What town in central Tejas? We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and I'd be happy to add you. Would you create a signature? The instructions are in Bullnose Forum/Forum FAQ's. And maybe put your name in there? We like to be on a first name basis as that helps to make it more personal.
