  1. Thanks, Bill and Shaun. Bill - I know you have documentation, and some of it is on this site. Shaun - Telling someone to search for it isn't very helpful. And since our search functions aren't perfected it is even less helpful. I did, however, tell someone on Facebook recently to search for it on here. Don't remember exactly what he was looking for, but I was out and about and didn't have the time to find it. Oh yes, it was repairing slide locks! Anyway, telling him there was something on here to answer his question seemed better than not saying anything at all.
  2. That was quick, Shaun! Glad it helped. And welcome.
  3. Man, this is WORK! I got two more pages up, but I've only added three more fasteners. The issue is that I go pull said fastener off Big Blue, take pics, check what the catalog says the size should be to ensure I have the right one, create new pages, add them to the fasteners collage, etc. So when you look at these pages you will be underwhelmed. Big time! But, we have a start. Interior Trim - Bronco Interior Trim - Regular Cab Check them out and let me know your thoughts. And before you ask, I'd hoped that the Broncos use many of the same fasteners that the pickups use. But there wasn't nearly as much overlap as I'd hoped.
  4. Family - It has come to my attention from several people that sometimes our posts are not kind. In fact, one member apparently hasn't been back since he was badly treated. Our guidelines, which govern membership here, include that "we do appreciate each other, which means we don't yell at nor talk down to others." Perhaps the "talk down to others" is too vague? Do we need to be more specific? I hope we don't have to spell everything out. So let me tell you what that includes to me: Dogmatic Approach: This is defined as "the expression of an opinion or belief as if it were a fact: positiveness in assertion of opinion especially when unwarranted or arrogant". Just because we remember it one way doesn't make it so. And just because it is in print or on the internet does not make it so. Opinions: I have many opinions, but my opinions aren't any more important than yours. So if I try to tell you that mine are more important than yours then I'm "talking down" to you from my perceived lofty perch. Argumentative: Continually pushing a view/opinion and having to have the last word. State your opinion, gently, and let it go. Let me put this another way. Our family got a subscription for Janey and I to a system that sends each of us a question each week for a year. My question this week was "What is the thing you've built that gives you the most pride?" And my answer was this website and forum - the website because it is the best in the world for Bullnose documentation, and the forum because it "provides a safe, friendly place for like-minded people to help each other without the anger, drama, and language that is typical elsewhere". The "elsewhere" refers to Facebook. I am a member on something like 10 Facebook pages for Ford trucks, and I can't stand the way some people act on them. In fact, I've blocked many people from seeing my responses and me theirs because of the language they use and the way they treat others. So I'm asking all of you to think about what you are saying, how you are saying it, and how often you are saying it. We must ensure this is a safe, friendly place to hang out.
  5. I've been toying with slipping F350 emblems on Big Blue once the D60 is under the front. But at $100 for two of them I'm not sure I'll do that.
  6. Yes, Houston, I think there's a problem. Here are my measurements: 1981 radio: Nose is 2 15/16" high and 4 1/2" wide. And knobs are on 5 3/4" centers. 1981 bezel opening: 2 1/2" x 4 1/8" DIN bezel opening: 2 3/16" x 7" Ne'er the twain shall meet. As said, I'd be pretty upset if I bought that for an '85 or '6. It is not advertised correctly.
  7. I think you are responding via email rather than logging into the forum and posting that way. But either way you can copy the URL of the other site and paste it into your post.
  8. LOL! IIRC it was you two that told me I'd never get the hydraulic clutch on Big Blue bled w/o driving it. Boy were you right. But a few miles of driving did wonders.
  9. Congrat's!! In my limited experience with hydraulic clutch linkages it takes a few miles of driving and bouncing to get all of the bubbles out of the system. So perhaps the shift into Reverse will get better with driving? (I almost said "Ride up with wear", but that's from Are You Being Served and few would know.)
  10. I'm surprised that they are marketing it as a "1980-1986 Ford Truck Radio" when there are two very different openings and mounting systems used: 1980 - 84; and 1985 & 6. I think I'd be pretty upset if I bought it for an '85 or '6 thinking it would fit right in. Have you checked to see how big the faceplate on it is? If I remember correctly the original 1980 - 84 radio faceplates were too tall to fit in the DIN opening of '85-6. I can check that later if you want. You could go to the earlier bezel with the larger opening, but if you have a burled wood bezel on the instrument panel you are stuck as there isn't a burled wood radio bezel with the larger opening.
  11. Yes, Ray, Tulsa was at one time a center for the oil industry. But it was also a center for the aviation industry, very much like Wichita. There's still some oil and aviation here. Phillips was in Bartlesville and Conoco, originally Continental Oil Company, was in Ponca City. And while I did work for Conoco for ~20 years, in addition to living in Ponca City I also lived in London & Houston while working for them. Then DuPont bought them and I lived in Wilmington, DE, and then Chicago. But there is a little bit of touristy draw. Darin and Anita, the couple from Australia, came here to see the Route 66 memorial. And with The Gathering Place others are coming to see it. Plus Bell's Amusement Park is said to be coming back. So while it isn't an exotic location, there are things to see and do. As for the regional shows, I was thinking I'd try to be at each of them and that was making me feel very tired. But with the idea of doing them simultaneously I guess I could "be there" via Facetime? Tickets? Hadn't thought about having an entry fee that might compel people to come when they wake up and it is raining. Hmmmm.....
  12. It certainly is nice, but I think we need a first-hand, eye-witness report. Shaun, this appears to be in your back yard. Is it worth $40k?
  13. According to Google, the part number is for a shifter bushing for 1983-1991 Mustangs with a T5 trans. It is possible that it is the same bushing for a truck 4spd though. Anything is possible. Greg - Ok, so no biggee if it doesn't work. But hope it does. Cory - Didn't think about Googling it. Good find.
  14. He just needs to clip a few pieces of info and then attach them in a more appropriate spot so that nobody goes nuts trying to find the info. You guys are FUNNY! I might play with this a bit today. Still winding down/recovering from the show and not quite ready to jump back into working on Big Blue.
  15. Even better than a wire. A plastic fish won't scratch the paint.
  16. I don't know, but it would seem like you could push a wire through the firewall from inside the cab, snag a string dangled through the antenna hole, and then pull the antenna lead through. I think.
  17. That # doesn't show up in the 1980 - 89 light truck master parts catalog. There's an E3TZ-7K453-A, but that's a bushing for an automatic transmission. However, one character difference can make all the difference in the world. Having said that, truck parts usually have a "T" in that position, so I'm not sure what you are getting. But I hope it works.
  18. We are going into the MLB playoffs and then the Series, so I'll be watching some baseball and can "compute" in the background. Or, maybe watch baseball in the background and compute in the foreground.
  19. Did you try clicking any of those pics? All but the ones I added today take you to the page for that fastener. I forgot to do that for today's 6 or so, but will do that ASAP. But I don't have the list about where the fasteners are used. That's a good idea, but it will take a lot of work. So, as long as I'm doing this by myself that will be for "some day". But that Disco find is great. I can list them as a source for various fasteners as well. Other than adding the links to the few fasteners I added today, I'm done with what you see. In other words, the clean up is essentially done. So which section do you think needs to be next? This one?
  20. I'm sure that's a huge factor - and that York A/C compressor isn't helping matters either. I was running the A/C full time on the trip, and I'm sure it's less efficient than the Sanden unit in David's truck. I did have the A/C off during the MPG run in Skiatook, and I expect that contributed to my ~17 MPG score, which is the highest I've ever logged in the truck. Yes, you are right about the A/C compressor. I was told by one of the custom A/C companies that a York/Tecumseh takes over 10 HP and a Sanden about 2 HP. So that's a big difference.
  21. Gee, Bill, that sure looks familiar. Steve - I have the same cable. Also bought it from Core Tuning. And I have Binary Editor. That's how the ECU was flashed to be for a 460. So when the short-block gets built up and all the wiring is done I'll effectively have a '96 truck with OBD-II, MAF, & SEFI.
