86 Lariat in Concourse condition

Rembrant
I have no idea what makes a vehicle in concourse condition, but this truck does seem to be well preserved for being 32 years old. Only 54,000 kms....about 30,000 miles.

Nice! (sans whitewalls! )

Interesting, my 1986 doesn't have the sixth number in the odometer. Or seventh depending on how you look at it.

That is because it is a metric speedometer.

Or, if so inclined, you can get a speedometer from an early 80's medium duty [F600/800] truck. I bought a NOS one and installed it in my F150, which now proudly displays 207, 858.5 miles.

The price was unbelievable [$49.99, including freight] and inside the box was the Ford supplied directions for setting the odometer. If you are attending the Garagemahal Ford Truck Show, you can see it in my truck.

Concourse is a level in a building. The word here is Concour. If referring to . .then it's Concours . . . but never an "e".

The for sale ads around here commonly say that the vehicle has new breaks.

You wanna have fun? Start a thread of automotive words commonly misspelled and/or automotive pet peeves. We could constantly be adding to it  :)

Isn't that interesting. I don't think I noticed the difference before, but I've seen USA for-sale ads where the seller would comment that the odo had rolled over and actual mileage was unknown.

I had to go check mine, because I thought it was only 5 digit before the decimal. Clearly I haven't been paying attention. Mine truck still only has 61,588 kms on it (38,269 miles).
