81-F150-Explorer
Year correct for 1980-1981 Heater Control, with Aux Fuel tank, without A/C. Will also fit 1982 but is not year correct as the 1982 version has the extra script "Warm --- Cool" on the temperature line. http://https://www.ebay.com/itm/295337250473?fits=Year%3A1981%7CModel%3AF-150%7CMake%3AFord&hash=item44c378cea9:g:s~UAAOSw1-1jccye&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoMK3ZSDRL4Y2vJwdIV1DYt61rlSEgGnU8a0PHv6zIjjldNx3IXzLGub7hw74ENXORwLzZhL9Q%2BFj7a5ZjU0W1%2FbiK5IzOMYmCM4okJMrm7YuOZog4HDFl8y6I2GphJVYKu0DJ2dOr9aM2jxncARjnBUX8rY1iPoTTJ1ir4yskTNIh9LrXTQ4LUg4K%2BVpZ8BBUfXyRtvGxWsHGVrXXrsrIfk%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR8DPqdefYQ
Gary Lewis
I wasn't aware that the 82 had that script on it. Cool! Warm?

Yes, I have one here somewhere in my parts bin with a E2 engineering number on the faceplate. It looks exactly the same as the 1980/1981 version except ... I’m really surprised that Ford would make such a minor change when it sure cost something to do so.

Ford did some weird things though. My opinion is they changed certain things to appeal people more to the new year model. I can imagine salesmen stating, "Don't buy that one! It's a year old, see the differences!" Only thing I can think of.

Not having script is not so good for those who are fully color blind... and since there already was text on the plates, only one silkscreen would need modified/replaced... not an expensive change in the long run. Perhaps this was a change to cater to such (or to market themselves as "accommodating the disabled").
