Well, we can use it w/o the annex, as a normal on top tent. But a changing room in the basement is handy when out and about. If you have any other questions about it..it rides fine mounted on the fiberglass top, of course the top itself is internally reinforced. My camping partner kinda likes the privacy basement room...
