BigBrother-84
Hi Gentlemen! Really not important subject, just curious. Looking here and there on the internet, and crossing some Bullnoses owners located in European countries, I suddenly realized that the bumpers dot not allow long slim licence plate, space is made for more "squared" American style ones. I am wondering how you handle this issue?
Gary Lewis
That's a good question, so I went back to see what some that aren't in NA have done: From Doni10: From Blacktop: From Matt Wood: And finally, one of my pics:

BigBrother-84
Reminds me of putting a square peg in a round hole... David - You sum up my question perfectly ! Gary - Thanks for the pics! But... Was it deliberate that you posted only front bumpers ones? What about the rear bumper, do our European friends have to "fold" their licence plates? What about the plate lights? Still wondering...

(I'll have to look for some of the other pics of the rear of the vehicles.)

Rembrant
How strict are they on having the plates? The province I live in did away with the front plate requirement 20 or so years ago. I drove my old Bullnose trucks around quite a bit with no plate on them at all...lol. The police don't pay much attention to the classics around here unless you're showing off and doing burnouts! In my two years of living there and probably a year's worth of vacating there I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle in the UK or Europe without both plates. And in the UK with all the traffic cameras I think you'd have a ticket in short order if you didn't have one. (I've been told that you can have a ticket in your mailbox before you get home there.) Italy seems to be a bit slower on that as it took them 6 months to get both of our tickets to us a few years ago, but that was surely slowed a bit because they had to go back through Hertz to find out who was driving the car. (Parking tickets - there was a little bitty sign, in Italian no less, that said something to the effect of "Yankee don't park here." )

We got an answer about the Caramilk Secret long license plates fitting mystery! We now understand how they get the long European size plates inside the small Bullnose rear (and front too, yep) bumper allowed space.
