I'm not sure what points you are asking about. Can you post a larger pic?

That's the underside of the upper intake plenum, right where the inner middle bolt goes into the lower intake. Those inner bolts are a real pain to reach and remove sometimes, especially after they're rusted in place. I don't see why you couldn't trim those edges off. They just look like leftovers from the casting process, but maybe they add strength somehow?...not sure.
