Unusual. BIG! As for the good MPG statement - perhaps they mean as compared to a 460. Here's what Wikipedia says about the 370: In 1981-82 the 370 cu in (6.1 L) replaced the 361 FE in medium-duty trucks. The 370 utilizes the 429's stroke with a smaller bore size. 370 Bore: 4.050" Stroke: 3.59" Hmmm, the 2-speed rear would certainly help. And a 460 would bolt in. Who needs MPG? And, note that it is a 370 4V. And, it has clear turn signal lenses! I'd say it is an '80 or early '81 if they did the same on the med duty trucks as the light duty ones.
