Pair of 1986 Bullnose Ford's

Recommended Posts

I just picked up my second project over the last couple of months, the more I work on these Fords the more I like them!

The first one is an 86 Bronco. Fuel Injected 302. I have already replaced the tailgate, it runs and drives but has a leaky rear main. I want to stay small block, but it really needs some more TQ and HP!

The Second - I just picked up this week. 1986 F350 Crew Cab. Carb'd 460 that runs, but needs a lot of love. I picked it up to tow the jet boats to the lake (Can't pull Ford Nitrous and Blown jet boats with a new F150 right). SO, even though I once said no more projects - here we go again. I am located in Newcastle, OK and lived in Skiatook at one time so hopefully I can bring at least one of them up to a get together.

Welcome! Glad you joined. :nabble_anim_handshake:

Want to be on the map? (We don't put people on w/o approval.)

Newcastle! Shame you don't have a decent lake down there. Bet you'll bring those boats up to a nice lake. :nabble_smiley_evil:

On the Bronco, while I agree that more torque is good, you are very limited in what you can do with the speed-density EFI system. But a carbed 351W will fit nicely, although if you have the AOD tranny it might not like it.

But that 460 will have the torque to tow. However, my 2015 F150 w/a 3/5L Ecoboost tows better than my 7.5L. Towed our 25' Sea Ray to Lake Powell and back with it and got 11 MPG. Big Blue gets 11 running light. :nabble_smiley_wink:

Yes Sir, feel free to put me on the map.

My daily is a 2018 F150 with the ECO - its towed the Cheyenne to Lake Havasu a couple of times. I hit Keystone for Thursday Nights. The 460 will be a gas hog but add a lot of old school style.

When is the annual get together in Skiatook?

If you see these headed down the road behind a bullnose make sure to say hello.

Lake Havasu? So you've seen London Bridge? As have I. Boy, did McCulloch have a surprise! :nabble_smiley_wink:

If I see one of those boats I'll flag you down.

And, you are now on the map.

The get together is the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, and there will be a dinner the night before for members and their wife/family/friend.
