Hi Im Gary from Brisbane in Qld Australia . I have owned my truck for nearly 20 years in all different combinations of power plants and is currently in the middle of a full resto and change of driveline . The rust caught up with me

I relied on alot of info from here for this rebuild as well as sourcing parts from the U.S . Its been a great help !

Regards Gary

Hello, Gary! Welcome. Glad you joined. :nabble_anim_handshake:

Nice truck. What engine is that? I'm thinking it is a Cleveland? But the power steering bracket looks like what we'd have for a Windsor.

And the alternator has no external fan, so is a 3G?

Nice seat. Is that the original style upholstery?

Would you like to be on our map? You can see it at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map. Looks like the closest member is Darin in Sydney.

Welcome!

Thanks for having me Guys

Its a 460 that was from a local importer , i'm not really sure about all the accessory stuff as we never had them and is really hard find over here .

Yes 3G , I bought it from another Ftruck guy as it wouldn't fit his 302W ,its one of those high output ones

I had a local trimmer down the coast do it , no the style is something we made up , that was really hard trying to come up with something that didn't look too weird. Originaly it was all cloth with a small stitched in pattern

yes please add me to the Map, wow thats a fair way away ,that surprises me as there are quite a few bullnose guys in south east queensland

Cheers Gary

You are now on the map. And one of the uses thereof is to be able to email the other person. Click on the person's pin/flag and then click on the email link. However, at the moment there's a glitch in the forum's email system and it doesn't always look like the email was sent, although it almost always is. So I click the "Send a copy of this message to me" box so I know it has gone.

So you can connect with Darin easily. And if you meet him tell him hello for me. He and his wife, Anita, visited us a couple of years ago.

460? I hope your petrol doesn't cost what I think it does. Those things are thirsty - I know from experience. But, they do pack a punch.

Welcome, Gary! Love our Aussie's and never met one I didn't like. Looking forward to watching your truck come together. So strange seeing a Bullnose with right hand drive. Curious, was your truck built in Australia or in the States?

Thanks Gary , I will do , Yea I kept telling myself "how bad on fuel could it be" ? can't be that bad surely !

I will end up putting a holley sniper on it and hopefully that will calm it down

Hi John thanks for the message , I'm not 100% sure but I think they were assembled in Australia from a "complete knocked down" form , i think ?

we can send away to ford Australia and get a build report from around 68-69 to current I think ,see below

Regards Gary

In the US and Canada that would be a Marti report. Ford sold the documents to Marti as they were apparently tired of providing the info to the owners, and now Marti supplies the information like in your letter.

As for "how bad on fuel could it be", I think the absolute best you can hope for is 14 MPG, and that will be under ideal conditions. Bill/85lebaront2 has a crewcab DRW truck with a tired 460, E4OD, and factory EFI with MAF & SEFI and he can get close to 14. And Big Blue with its new EFI-headed 460, ZF5, headers, and an Edelbrock carb can get 12 under ideal conditions. But I'm hoping for 13+ when I go to EFI.

So my guess of 14 is because you have a lighter truck than either of us. But I believe you'll need multi-port FI to get you there, not throttle body.

LOOOL! Have to admit shamefully :nabble_smiley_blush:, looking at your post, I first tought «mmm... all his pictures are flipped, strange, maybe similar bug as when mine appear upside down», when I suddenly remembered that all of us are driving the wrong side, exepting couple of old GB 🇬🇧 colonies!

Hahaha yea I guess you don't see too many with the wheel on the wrong side . Our trucks shared a few parts from the Ozzy Falcons like steering columns ,250 crossflow engines etc

They were pretty basic trucks compared to the US versions
