I just finished doing a restoration job on my dash and door panels.

The door panels I just painted and replaced.

The dash pad I looked for a way to patch the dreaded speaker cracking out ,

decided to go with a grill that I got from Amazon.

I cleaned the pad primed and painted ,the installed the grill. (see pictures)

I pulled the cluster out ,stripped the paint and repainted with a satin . I used a oil based paint stick

for the numbers.

The rest of the dash , cluster cover and radio cover I cleaned primed and painted with a satin black.

I then accented it with a silver oil based paint pen.

Im pleased with the way everything turned out

Looks really good, and the satin did a nice job.

The fix-up is like having a new truck without the cost.

One thing interesting, noticed the odometer on the '84 has a square around the 55 as a reminder to keep the speed down due to the oil embargo.

Just looked at our '85 and the square is gone.

Otherwise, everything else looks the same.

Not just that but replacement speedometers had the tenth mile wheel on the odometer with red numerals instead of black.

I bought a NOS million mile speedometer from a larger series of truck (F700 and up) with the hopes of pulling the assembly out and transfering it to my existing speedometer with trip. I havent attempted to do it but comparing the photos it appears there will be no way to swap it as my initial thoughts of just the wheels being narrower was false it looks like the wheels are narrower as well as the assembly being longer.
