Rembrant
Gentlemen, I am assuming that there are some color Bullnose color ID experts on here? I am curious about something. I came across this picture below while doing some other random searches. It is supposed to be a 1984 F150. Would anybody be able to confirm the paint code? Is this 3P Brite Blue Metallic? Or, alternatively, can you confirm that it is not one of the other two blue codes? 3F or 3L? My truck's paint code is 3P, and I'm just trying to confirm if this is what it is supposed to look like. I assume the medium midnight is a dark blue?

Gary Lewis
PPG chart: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/UvsAAOSw9GhYYyjF/s-l1600.jpg Good job, David! I’m at the water park with the twins thinking “I’ve got a paint chart at home that I need to scan in and put on the website.” But you found one and now I can go back to watching the grands. 🤪

I could not find a Ford one at this time. I did find a Dupont chart, but it was blurry.
Rembrant
PPG chart: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/UvsAAOSw9GhYYyjF/s-l1600.jpg That's great, thank you! That confirms that the midnight blue is much darker, and the light blue is much lighter. The truck above must be the 3P Brite Blue Metallic. I wonder what came with the Bahama Blue? That isn't on the paint code list that I took from my 1984 FSM. Is the paint code list in my manual known to be less than 100% correct?

Thanks Gary, that is very helpful;). So, that brings me to another question about your Ford paint code pages (US/CDN). There is a column for enamel and one for lacquer. Was Ford still doing some trucks in single stage paint in the 80's, or were they all base/clear? I see there is a little zero with a slash for clear coat colors, only in the lacquer column. Were the enamels all single stage paint jobs? Just curious more than anything;).

Early 80s was still SS. best place to look for paint codes and example is www.paintref.com Once you have located year, make and paint code . .if there is an "X" over the color, there is a sample picture.
