Ham radio operators

Recommended Posts

I am looking for ideas on installing some ham radios and a cb in my '86 f250 single cab diesel. I am conflicted between installing one of those shelf it cab shelves that I have seen online and installing a able-to-show me universal radio console to mount on the floor. I am looking for ideas on what someone else might have installed in their truck? Here is what I plan on putting in my truck; kenwood tk-690(vhf low band), kenwood tk-790(vhf), cobra 29 ltd cb radio, and a uniden digital scanner, I have an idea of how to mount my antennas but I am looking for ideas on what someone else might have installed and how they went about doing it?

I ordered mine from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, but see this post for who carries it: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Big-Blue-s-Transformation-tp28014p77028.html.

And it is very sturdy. I like it a bunch.

I put a Yaesu FT 2980R on one of these in my Bronco.

I have the Ford rubber mat in it and used two sided tape to hold it in place on the tranny hump.

Didn’t want to screw it in until I was sure that’s what I wanted. Glad I did, sold the radio. But I liked the mount.

That's a whole lot cheaper than a Highliner! :nabble_smiley_good:
