After work yesterday I washed the metal filler neck in the sink and started to clean the rust residue off and polish it. Next step will be to paint the back side to prevent it from rusting again. I am thinking of leaving the fill side bare and spray some clear film lubrication or I can clear coat it but I don't know if there is a fuel resistant clear coat. Open to suggestions on best course of action.

Dang how nice that looks with a little (lot) work. SO where does the vent tube run up to the filler?

Thanks Randy, the vent tube goes up on part of the filler neck that is sectioned off at the base.

Could you measure the length of vent tube? I *might* cheat one up since mine is missing.

The kerosene hand pump is not exact match but they might have others that are a little longer and wider on the ends. Here are the specs for reference. I held the black tube straight when I measured for the close up. It is about 25 1/4" long.

And the pump I have.

Thanks, Jonathan. I have read that 3/4" pex works for this vent as well. I'll study on it, see what I can do as a stopgap. But that flex hose on teh kero pump might work even better to fit down the hose.

BTW, per your bent crossmember, I tried to unbend mine, which was bent opposite yours. Apparently someone tried to pull truck via that crossmember. My little trolley jack was picking up the truck before starting any sort of bending action. I think I may just paint it black and call it my air dam.
