So I got my 85 f250 back from the engine swap. It runs well, seems the swapped motor may hold up. I am having a few issues I need to address, not with the motor though

I took it on a decent shake down run out through the country, shows some decent acceleration in 4th gear. Got it up around 70mph at times, mostly just cruising it around in 4th.

Good to hear! I’m glad the transplant was a success and engine seems healthy. For cruising at 70mph with the T19 you must have 3.55 gears? My 4.10 truck with T19 will go 70mph but is already screaming at 55mph and is truly hating life above 65...

Probably 4.10 also. I cruised at about 45mph. It was screaming at 70.

Hmmm? My son's 1984 was "born" with 2.47 rear gears and the 4 speed manual O.D. It would cruise @ 65 in 3rd and you really could not hear the engine. :nabble_smiley_whistling:

Big Blue, with 3.54’s and no OD, is spinning that 460 at about 2500 ROM @ 65 MPH. Way to fast for my tastes. Should drop to 1900 with the ZF5.

Will the 460 pull that? I should think so. Dad’s warmed up 351M pulled the same gears perfectly on the highway with a LOAD of furniture in the bed. Motored up the big climb on I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville on cruise - with the same ZF. 😉

The truck developed a small oil leak, i took it back to the mechanic and he fixed the problem. He also changed my fuel pump, had a little leak also.

After getting the truck back I removed the headache rack and the steps, I think it looks a much better.image171.jpeg.f4d69f2e480c405b4ec65f6baf91a893.jpeg

I had been dead set against changing the wheels but I have been wondering lately about changing them. And saw these for cheap, what do you guys/gals think?

I like those wheels. However, it says they are Dodge rims and also fit Chevies. But it doesn't say Fords. Some wheels that fit Dodges don't have a large enough center hole to fit over a Ford's hub, so check them out before you buy them.
