( lower holes will be welded and sprayed again ) Second reason is due to the fact I live in Amsterdam, where we have more bicycles than cars, I bumped into some cyclist already with the wide mirrors. Anybody any suggestions that have worked out for you. ( there are so many options on the internet, but some look to me as really cheap, and I want them to be black)

Hey Andre,

I have the small factory mirrors on my 1984 F150, and they bolt in using the same upper holes as the larger mirrors you have now.

Mine are chrome obviously, but they are available in black...I believe on the XLS models, and maybe the Rangers and baby Bronco II's.

There are also the black paddle style mirrors that showed up I believe in 1986, they should also bolt into the same upper holes. LMC sells new ones (I think).

Here's a screen shot from LMC. The red check indicates the mirrors I have. I don't think anybody reproduces them in black, so you'll have to look on Ebay for NOS black FORD mirrors.

The yellow check shows the plastic paddle style mirrors. Both of them should bolt-in to your existing upper holes.

Rembrant, thanks for the feedback, I think I saw something on ebay, similar to yours, and in black. That would mean that the Bronco II has the same mirrors.

Jein, Andre. :nabble_smiley_wink:

On our page for exterior mirrors (Documentation/Exterior/Exterior Mirrors) you can see that Cory's mirrors are probably Type 5's, and the "paddle" mirrors are Type 14. If you then look at the Part Numbers tab you can see that the Type 5's were used on the F-Series pickups, U-Series full-sized Broncos, and the R-Series little Ranger pickup. But not the B-Series Bronco II.

But the Type 14's were used on the F-Series, B-Series, and R-Series, and not U-Series.

However, since the doors interchange between the F & U series and between the B & R series the mirrors could be used on any of them. But they may not be advertised as fitting.
