Some times all it takes is a bunch of new parts to fuel the excitement and then a whole lot gets done. Looks like there are plenty of parts to cause lots of excitement! :nabble_anim_jump:

good morning folks here are some progress pictures from over the holiday....

4" lift is in, talked to my buddy at body shop and horse traded some dodge 3rd gen parts and he is going to faux patina new hood and that one fender to match rest of the truck..got new crossmembers for the bed so that project and the carb are next in line

Cam ordered his wheels they will be in on monday so we can mount up the 35" toyos

other tinkering to make the truck more reliable and safer.....now onto the pictures

Good progress! And, as Jim says, progress is good!

And the truck is looking good as well. But how does one faux patina a body panel to match the rest? I'm curious.

just some random quick video that kind of hits high lights search youtube you will see

just a paint technique to match weathering mother nature has already done so well

Thanks, I'll watch it.

not a great video but i think you will get the jist

essentially paint techniques where you mimic what the sun does by layering paint and removing it in deliberate steps to look aged and weathered with out looking "painted"

if done right looks really kind of cool in my opinion.....if done wrong looks like a poorly done highschool art project

Thanks! I've watched some parts of them and skipped through when I saw how they were doing it to get to the end. But there are apparently several different approaches. Good to know. :nabble_smiley_good:

yup there is real no right way, cool thing about my buddy doing it is he has technology to match the paints,,,,, and it only cost me parts that were taking up space....i just think the patina the truck has is cooler than clean paint... like tow mater from cars says it (patina) tells a story
