You're correct - as most are - it's definitely not without it's issues. I've thought about using mine as a template and making another but the toolboxes aren't really too high on my list. As nice as these are, I can't see myself spending that kind of money on one when used military surplus ammo cans are cheaper, plentiful, and much stronger.
