Rembrant Posted October 19, 2020 Author Share Posted October 19, 2020 I had no luck on the coolant elbow w/ ECU temp sensor socket. If you're not running an ECU the aftermarket does make a t-stat housing "for leaded fuel" with the heater hose nipple directly pressed into to the housing. Mine was rusted pretty bad (a few rust holes in the nipple after cleaning it up), I ended up torch soldering it. One could make one from some pipe fittings (close nipple, tee, and 45 degree nipple), but would not be stock, lol. Interesting. I found one on Rockauto, but I had to keep searching backwards until I got to around 1978. I might just do the standard pipe fittings for now, but thanks for the info.
