hubcityford
Replacing mechanical fuel pump on 81. It has two gaskets included. Do you use both gaskets? Can’t tell difference between the two. Also would you use sealer with gasket(s)? Thanks Jeremy
Gary Lewis
I wouldn't use two gaskets. I think they were just being kind giving you two. But I would use sealer. I use a THIN skim of RTV on both sides.
kramttocs
I replaced the one on my 80 400 a month ago and it came with 2 also. Figured it was a mistake so just tossed the extra. On the gasket I used something someone recommend awhile back - 'tacky' something but rtv would work just as well.

I'm not a fan of silicone AND a gasket - it's one or the other. On gaskets, I use one of the tacky sealers (Hi Tack, Gaskacinch, etc) both to hold the gasket in place, and as extra insurance. But to answer your question, one gasket...

Just something to hold it in place while you finagle it up there.
