Here is a puzzling issue. So my 85 F250 with 6.9 diesel needs a new tank selector valve which is part number E3TZ-9189-C. However, all of the one I can find have 4 ports down and 2 up. Mine has 2 ports up, 2 down and 2 horizontal to frame. 2 horizontal ones are front tank, 2 down are rear tank and 2 up are to motor. Anyone know where to find such a valve or am I looking for wrong number. Thank you

Lonni - I'm not sure what valve you have as I'm not sure I follow your description. But does yours have an ID # on it?

Our page (Documentation/Fuel Systems/Fuel Systems Part Numbers/Fuel Tank Selector Valves) says you are right that you should have E3TZ 9189-C and that it should be marked E3TB 9F271-AA.

I have a new, in box, valve and it is marked that way and the box has that part number. Here are pics of it.

Mine has 2 ports that face the rear of truck that the front tank hooks into, then the ports that point down are rear tank and ports pointing up go to motor. The one you have and I am seeing every where have the 4 ports pointing down and 2 up. The picture on the site page shows what mine looks like but non on market are like that. Here is what mine looks like.

Well, E3TZ 9189-C is the wrong valve for your truck. Here's the illustration of the right valve. Correct?

A major change is the way the hoses connect. In the pic below you'll see a hose barb on the E3TZ 9189-C, meaning a rubber hose goes on it. And on the right you'll see the quick disconnect type fitting that I think your truck has. I say that because you can see them in the illustration above. And they don't interchange.

So, I think the part number you need is E5TZ 9189-B.

Ok... anyone know where to find one? Talked to a ford dealer and they said it’s on a national back order. Lol. At least still getting fuel out of one tank. Thanks for all the help

Try Gillie-Hyde Ford in Glasgow KY - they show 3 of them. 270-651-2125

Any luck?? There are more out there.

It sounds like you need a new dealer... lol

Going to call them here in a few. We have one dealer that is an older one that has a lot of older parts and a parts guy that has been then for some time and he is awesome to talk to. Has a ton of knowledge but just not this one part... lol
