6.9-250 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Anyone have any info on this? I was working on the brake calipers and see that it says discard on it. Looks like it provides isolation between the 2 leafs??
ArdWrknTrk Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Also keeps my front tires from rubbing the leafs directly. Not sure why you should discard it.
Gary Lewis Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Does it have a # on it? I might be able to cross-ref to a part #.

They were meant to keep tie down chains from scratching the leaf springs, and were supposed to have been removed at PDI. It's amazing how many trucks we see that still have them.

6.9-250 Posted July 31, 2020 Author Posted July 31, 2020 So....since its been in there for 35 years...is there any good reason to remove it now?
Gary Lewis Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 So....since its been in there for 35 years...is there any good reason to remove it now? I don't see any reason to remove it. It obviously isn't going to fall off and it isn't hurting anything.
