I must be stupid but this connector wont budge so I figured I would check with you guys before I do something I will regret. I'm trying to unplug the compressor and then the sky opened up with torrential downpours so I packed it in for the day.

While I'm at it, is there a chart which shows the amount of compressor oil and refrigerant for the 84 truck?

I see for 85 trucks it says 48 oz r12 and 10 oz mineral oil. Mine is r134a and synthetic.

In your picture, on the bottom side of the connector, you can see a small tab with a hole, insert a small screw driver and pull it away from the connector carefully while pulling on the connector body.

Ok I will look for that tomorrow.

Thanks.

Carefully being key. The tab on mine broke off really easily and had to be epoxied back on.

Not sure about a chart but just redid my a/c. Used 10oz pag46 and something like 3.5 cans of 134a.

I have read that 10 oz would be for the whole system.

Correct. 10oz for the whole system. The compressor I bought came with 3oz in it. This was an FS6.

Check this out, 2 of the ports look like someone stuffed JB Weld into them!

Has anyone replaced a compressor recently and seen this?

Could it be because if R134a ?

That is not a Ford OEM compressor, it is probably a Chinese knock-off and only uses the rear ports into the manifolds. Here are some pictures of the FS6 I removed from Darth when I changed things to go to EFI.
