Gary Lewis Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Apparently this truck sold for $45K on BaT yesterday. I don't know if BaT's listings stay around forever, so I'm going to include some of the info here for posterity. The advert says: This 1986 Ford F-250 4×4 is a regular cab pickup that was delivered new to Hayden-Beardslee Incorporated of Cassopolis, Michigan and acquired by the seller in 2020, reportedly from the wife of the original owner. The truck is finished in red over a matching vinyl and cloth interior and equipped with the Trailer Towing package, an auxiliary fuel tank, a heater, and a period Pioneer cassette stereo. Power is supplied by a 460ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. This F-250 shows 33k miles and is offered at no reserve with a window sticker, an Ownercard, manufacturer’s literature, a handwritten maintenance log booklet, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name. The truck is said to have been refinished in red during previous ownership and features a chrome front bumper, swing-away side mirrors, diamond-plated bedside panels, a spray-in bedliner, and a step rear bumper. Paint is peeling on the door sills and scratches are visible on the tailgate and rear bumper. Steel 16″ wheels are mounted over manually locking front hubs and wear polished hubcaps as well as Firestone Transforce HT tires. The front brake pads, rear shoes, and rear wheel cylinders were replaced in September 2018. The cab is equipped with a fold-forward bench seat upholstered in Canyon Red vinyl with knitted inserts, a matching dash and door panels, and a rubber floor liner. Amenities include roll-down side windows, a sliding rear window, a heater, a locking glove compartment, and a period Pioneer cassette stereo. Instrumentation consists of an 85-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles. The 460ci V8 sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The valve covers were replaced and an oil change was performed in June 2020.
salans7 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Wow! As if parts aren't expensive enough for these trucks, sales like this are just gonna put them even further through the roof. Can't wait to get $20k for my F350.
Rembrant Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Man that sure is big bucks for a Bull. Bitter sweet...
Rembrant Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 Apparently this truck sold for $45K on BaT yesterday. By the way, you know that saying...that you couldn't build that truck for that much money? I'm not sure that will apply at these kind of prices, will it? I mean yes, it is a lovely truck, but damn...you could sure build a nice one for $45k...

By the way, you know that saying...that you couldn't build that truck for that much money? I'm not sure that will apply at these kind of prices, will it? I mean yes, it is a lovely truck, but damn...you could sure build a nice one for $45k... Yes, you could build a nice one for that price. A guy on FB is selling an '86 F350 4x4 w/a 460, ZF5, L&L's, and Magnaflows for $13,500. So it has the D60 up front that I've added - at great cost. Man, I'd have been money and time ahead to buy that truck instead of doing all this work to Big Blue. But even all the money I've put into BB won't come close to $45K and I'll have a much better truck to boot.
