I think it pulls people in when they see the opening scene of a video. :nabble_smiley_wink:

Does anyone have 83+ with the many options on the AC controller? I've been looking at controllers online 80-82 and they're arranged different than mine. So I wonder if mine was the newer style that got switched in 82.

These are my options

In other news, ordered floor pans and tailgate and some stuff for it. Hopefully will have a functioning rear window here soon.

That HVAC panel is identical to mine, which I know is the later (83-on) style. The place where the hoses plug in are completely different, I think the old style has 2 rows of ports, and the newer style has them more in a cluster.

that looks to be the typical late bull nose factory air panel . although i believe the 85/6 had more of a blue /red overlapping color blend scheme instead of the red white blue dotted version

It seems that it is the earlier version, just that every "early version" that doesn't have like the 3 settings for AC has been the later version. I guess I've been somehow getting the parts that have been mislabeled when going around asking yards if they have controls. I haven't been able to find the vacuum switch online anywhere and I looked back on LMC tonight and its completely removed from their catalog. Its just 80-83 without air conditioning and then 83-91 with air conditioning. I found a couple pictures with the exact style I have from F150s with dual tanks so I can just take the vacuum switch off hopefully and all will be well. I'll call tomorrow and hopefully they weren't sold and left online.

My next plans are to get the dash/front area done and the tailgate. Get the stereo and new dash bezels in and new floor panels and rebuild the tailgate.

Hard to find a 85-86 black radio bezel to not cut it. Not a huge fan of the wood grain. Think I'm going to get a wood grain radio bezel for now and paint it black. And to find a black bezel with vents for around the gauges.

That's pretty much what I did on my truck. I actually just sanded down the woodgrain until it was smooth, then painted over it with SEM trim black. I think it looks good.

I suspect there may be members of the community that prize stock originality who may be mildly fuming... but to each his own.

The plan is to find someone that has a good black gauge surround and then hopefully just a cheap wood grain for the single DIN so I can finally get music in this thing.
