Lima Delta Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Hi guys, I'm looking for another steering column all of a sudden after the original broke where the shift handle connects. Looks like the casting just decided to give up and I'm guessing by the look of the metal, it can't be welded - though I'm not an experienced welder! Anyway, like I said I've started to look for a replacement, but I haven't had much luck so far. My truck has a C6 and I gather that a anything from between 1980-1991 should fit. I'd prefer a non-tilt, but I'll take what I can get right now. I might be able to get one from a '91 but I think the tranny is an AOD in that truck... Does that matter? Modifications? Thanks! LD
myrl883 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 You're right - anything from '80-'91 will fit. The shift lever and socket (the part that broke on yours) is different on '80 & '81 models, but as an assembly, any year will bolt right in.
Rodeoclown Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 I have an 86 f150 donor in my driveway. It has a C6, tilt and C/C. I'm in York, PA if it helps. Just needs to be removed.

Speaking of column parts, does anyone have a C6 cable/needle assembly for the gear select/shift lever? Broke it changing the shift collar...
