CRittaler
Just out of curioisity (spellcheck?), whats the smallest gauge youve done with the 125? I have the HF Titanium Unlimited 200 and have been using the MIG to weld up the roof of my truck. I've only welded with it 3 times (one with flux twice with gas) gas makes it so much easier to weld the thin sheet metal. I made my patch panel using 18GA. It has been a busy couple months and I lost track of this thread. Those welds look nice! Well to keep this thread updated, after all my talk about the limits of Arc welding, I bought another stick welder.
harleyfred
Sir, from what you have stated a Flux Core welder will do more than what you require. I would investigate what the good folks at Harbor Freight have to offer. They have a few flux core welders that are in your price range. I am on another forum and several individuals have had great success with their welders. Flux core has one advantage. You can use it outside and the wind will not bother you. With MIG, it can be difficult. This website contains really useful information about the best inexpensive welders.
