BARRYS83F100 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Members anybody remember what diameter & length rivets are to do bend door repair, also the length of the 3/16 clevis pin ? I am trying to round up all parts for repair also any pointers would be appreciated Thanks, Barry
kramttocs Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Hey Barry, Here are some photos. Happy to get more if needed. I've done this fairly recently and Shaun is looking to do it soon. As for the rivets, I provided the thickness measurements of a plastic door and the hinge I used. I don't recall the exact length of the rivets I used. Have you read through Karl's guide on FTE?

An important question - doing this in the truck or out?
BARRYS83F100 Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 An important question - doing this in the truck or out? doing it in the truck, did you use 1/8 or 5 /32 rivets ?
kramttocs Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 doing it in the truck, did you use 1/8 or 5 /32 rivets ? I don't recall on that but likely 1/8 if forced to guess. Whichever you have or can get the easiest will work fine for this application. Haven't done it in truck but I'd be tempted to run the truck and crank up the heat while doing the bending and prying portion. The more pliable the better.

kramttocs Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 how hard is it to get assembly out ? It would require pulling the dash. I'd do the repair in the dash unless you have another reason to pull it.
