Gary Lewis
I wonder if you could "old school" an ecotec. Strip it down to its basic mechanical pieces and hot rod it. Install a distributor of some fashion, lock it out, and use a modern aftermarket fuel injection setup that would control fuel mapping and timing. If that were possible, the next big problem would be....fitting a transmission. Something has to control the twin turbos. And the transmission. Ray Cecil
Something has to control the twin turbos. And the transmission. Blow off valves can control turbos, right? I mean, those turboes would get upgraded anyway to bigger ones. Not a ford, but a 4L80E trans with stand alone controller, with a custom adapter to mate them....what are the comparible ford transmissions that have aftermarket stand alone controllers, comparable to the 4L80E? I could easily engineer an adapter if I had a trans and an engine to look at.
Danny G
Funnily enough ford has a eco blue engine, its a diesel lol.
Frank Wyatt
Funnily enough ford has a eco blue engine, its a diesel lol. Here's an ECU or control pack as it is listed for a 3.5 EB with a manual trans. I imagine a C4 or C6 or maybe an AOD or a 4L80 with stand alone controller would work just as well. https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6017-35CNTRL
