Gary Lewis
Was perusing the MPC today and ran across this. However, I find no mention of them in the Illustration section of the MPC nor the 1986 Accessories Catalog nor the 1986 Rapid-Spec Price List. Anyone know anything about them? Ford F834
Interesting that there is no right and left... they would have to be flexible? 🤷♂️ ... or sold in pairs 🤦♂️
Angelo Voltura
Interesting that there is no right and left... they would have to be flexible? 🤷♂️ ... or sold in pairs 🤦♂️ I have to talk to my parts guy to verify, but from what I remember yes Ford did have flexible fender flare kits available, they were the same ones like you can buy through LMC or other companies, those universal black flexy flares. I didn't know they had a part number but I do know you could get them through a dealership as an accessory. In fact, my father had them installed on his truck and bought them from Ford in 1989. I forgot to mention, they had 2 kits, they were sold in pairs as well. You could get the flexy and they made a hard plastic one that filled the body line. Sold in pairs. This is the kit they made for the Ranger. I'm looking through my master parts catalog for 80-89 right now. It has everything right down to weights of the individual pieces. EDIT: Bottom right hand corner, plastic ones

Gary Lewis
Thanks, David! I don't think I'm sold on the look of these. (Sorry, Angelo.) They look like eyebrows. I was hoping for more like this:

Angelo Voltura
I don't think I'm sold on the look of these. (Sorry, Angelo.) They look like eyebrows. I was hoping for more like this: I'm not sure if these were factory ones, but I have seen these plenty of times: I believe they are a Lund product. I have heard they were marketed as "Extend-A-Fender" and are pretty difficult to come by these days. Also, I like the flexy flares some days and not so much on others. We opted to leave them off this time, as they tend to hold moisture and promote rust. EDIT: It looks like Bronco Graveyard sells those Extend-A-Fender flares new, and WOW boy are they pricey closing in at almost $500 for the set. Shaun - Yes, Bill/Numberdummy isn't very pleased with their pricing. Which is probably why they still have those. Angelo - I'm not sure I'm up to liking them every other day. And at $500/set I doubt I'll ever get to liking them 1/2 the time. Anyway, I've sent a request for pricing into both of those outfits and will let you know what they say.
