F100 from Tasmania

hey guys!

il start by saying finding this site has been a massive help with owning a bullnose! My truck is an 82 f100 custom with a 4.1L inline six found in aus built falcons.

My old man bought it from a farm in very rough shape(i iwhs i had the pictures to show you the extent of australian ingenuity to keep this thing runninghttp://www.garysgaragemahal.com/uploads/6/5/8/7/65879365/laughing-25-x-25_orig.gif). he drove it for a while but with work commitments passed it down to me. i should have left it the way it was but i ended up tearing it down nut and bolt and either refurbished or replaced everything i could with an extremely limited budget. if i had known about this site before i had done all this it would have definitely made the putting it back together side a whole lot easier! i plan to upgrade alot of things in this truck with OEM stuff from later model trucks( intermittent wipers, dash, A/C, door cards etc) so il will have a million question down the track!

anyway ive attached the only 2 pictures i have on my phone currently. i will get an underbody and interior picture tomorow while its clean. Cheers!

Welcome!!!! Tasmania! We have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and I'd love to add you to it if I had a town. And I assume you've seen that Darin is in Sydney?

Glad the site has helped. That's why it exists, so I'm happy it is working.

Nice looking truck. :nabble_smiley_good: But I can't imagine the problems you have just finding parts. Here in NA where they were made it isn't always easy to find parts, but there? :nabble_smiley_argh:

You'll have to start a build thread in the main section. And perhaps some of the guys here in NA will have parts you need. Darin has had things shipped over to him, so it can be done.

You are now on the map. And, by the way, if you click on someone's pin in the map you'll have the option of emailing that person. So you can easily email Darin.

And, by the way, one year ago yesterday he was sitting beside me here in the house. He and his wife, as well as Ken and his wife from New Zealand, had come over and were here for the truck show.

Nice looking truck! Welcome aboard Mate.

Any plans down the road? Perhaps a Barra swap? That would be a very cool thing to see done.....

They didn't travel to the States just for the show. They were planning to come and adjusted their schedule (or is that "shedule"?) to match up with the show.

The show is held the 3rd Saturday in September, so you can plan around it. Would love to have you come!

And Darin did fill a suitcase and then some with parts. I was parting out a '90 and the cab was going to scrap, so he asked me for part of the roof. When he got here we cut out the section he wanted and he then boxed it up and had it shipped back.

A Barra swap would be way cool. They never made it here, so I had to go a different route for a boosted I6.

Out of curiosity, did Ford ever offer any diesel options in the F100 in your part of the world? I know Toyota and Nissan had several diesels there, and just like the Barra, they didn't bring them to the US market.

Someday, I'd love to visit Tas, and a lot of other Aussie sights....
