1984 HVAC Engine Side Diagram

Interesting! Does it have any #'s on it? Or, does yours?
The base PN is 19D607, but so are the rings around the accumulator/drier.

I guess it's an accumulator rather than a dryer...
It's both, and Ford calls it an accumulator/drier. The desiccant is in a bag (or 2) inside the accumulator housing.

Ah, had wondered what was inside that thing.

No, no number stamped on any of them. As I was leaving I found another on an early bronco (tried to open the door for the year but no small number of red wasps informed me that was their domain now).

Back sort of on-topic...

I forgot I had an '81 Service Manual - none of its diagrams show that upper plate. One of them shows 2 rings, but both attach to the evaporator plate.
