My '83 Bronco

I refer to this truck often, so I thought I would share. I bought it in Charlotte, NC. . . but it was originally a northeast truck :( Rust . . The floor is fine, frame is fine, just the exterior sheet metal was in need. I put in quarter panel patches first . .then moved to the left door, left fender and now on to the right fender. I bought two front fenders and used one of them on the left. I had not intended to remove the right fender, but it had some bad rust up under the wheel lip . .so I pulled it off. The spare fender I had was perfect there, but had rust in the front lower, from poor storage before I bought it. So I cut that area off the original fender and grafted it on.

Although my pics don't show it, but each panel is stripped to bare metal before the it is finished. I often start the body work with paint still on the panel, but no paint is left on in the end. Here also, are some front end pics as i attacked the '64 grille. I zip tie it in as I am test fitting.First pics shows gaps that will have to be filled with metal patches.

I'm in awe. I don't have the vision to even imagine what things will look like. But, you make it happen. :nabble_smiley_good:

Wow Pete, that is really neat work.

It's a good thing you're not more proximate to me, I'd be out there on weekends standing behind you throwing a shadow trying to learn techniques for body work. I'm still kind of a butcher at this point.

'looking forward to seeing the build progress.

The little black Bronco 2 with the old grill and plain wheels is cute as a button! Well done.

Some other nice vehicles in there as well.

That's a 1966 Bronco grille in a 1984 Bronco II. The BII had a 302 in it, it was a beast :) I sold it and bought the '83 I'll building now.

Time for an update, as I have been full speed ahead with the body work. I want to paint it within a month if possible. I have interior upholstery coming. I will be removing the interior trim panels in the rear and using a color keyed bedliner. I want it to be more like the early Broncos. I may go sans the headliner as well and paint the interior roof to match the exterior color. Here's some body updates.Right_side_stripping_and_bodywork.jpg.99bad52cd5ebda6ba56c5deddf8a70d0.jpg

Looking great, Pete! I've forgotten - what is that color?

And what are the plans for the engine?

Color, I'm going to use Hugger Orange. The interior will be tan like my F100. The engine is a 300. I rebuilt it shortly after I got the truck. It had a piston that had dropped it's skirts ,to the oil pan :) Trans is a C6, which I wish it didn't have. The last pic is with the top off, which I FINALLY was able to give away !! Yay for me. I have a folding convertible top going on it permanently.
