But the 1994 version of the catalog shows E2TZ 1130-C used in 1980 and '81 as follows: 7 1/8" diameter-chrome w/red center ornament-use on forged alum. 15x6 wheel And for those years D7TZ 1130-K was shown as: 7 1/8" diameter-black w/red center ornament for styled wheels But as of 1982, and for the rest of the Bullnose era, E2TZ 1130-C shows: 7 1/8" diameter-chrome w/red center ornament for styled wheel Was there really a change in what wheels the black/red vs chrome/red center caps were used on? It was used on Ford's best wheel at the time, which was the 15x7 "Deluxe Argent Styled Steel Wheel" - which was introduced that same year. Perhaps when E2TZ 1130-C came out in 1982, Ford also decided to retrofit this "upgraded" center cap to the best wheel of 1980 and 1981? I knew something was awry when the catalog said an E2 center cap was right for an '80 and '81 truck. David - That's the right medallion. But wouldn't the cap itself be chrome? David - That's the right medallion. But wouldn't the cap itself be chrome? That is the wrong medallion for E2TZ. The D7TZ medallion features a red section that is raised from the outer black ring. On E2TZ this changed and the medallions were flat. There was another center cap around 1982-1984 that was used on the less popular styled steel wheel of that era, but it was vastly different from the aforementioned center caps.
