Quarterwave
Hi guys, While I was installing some exhausts this weekend, I noticed a cable that was connected to what looks like a sensor in the transmission, but the other end wasn't connected to anything else. I took the best photos that I could and have circled/traced around them in red. Any ideas about what it is and where is should go to, are much appreciated. Thanks! Gary Lewis
That looks to be the vacuum modulator, and w/o it being connected the tranny won't shift correctly. As for where it should be connected, look here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/vacuum-systems.html

Im examining my vacuum system in the next couple weeks while im doing some other things. That might be causing my shifting issues.

I'll take a closer look this weekend...
Quarterwave
You kind of have to know that page is there. I probably need to do change that. Hi Gary - after taking a look this weekend, the hose is actually connected to the vacuum connector. However, there is a bracket that looks like it connects to the top of the bellhousing (to prevent the hose it from moving around). Is that correct? If so, what size bolt do I need? Any help is appreciated in advance.

It should be there, unless some "mechanic" left it out.

85lebaront2
Thanks 85lebaront2, where does it connect to? The bellhousing? Don't get me started about mechanics in South Florida.... It uses the actual converter/bell housing upper right hand bolt as viewed from the back. At least you have a small engine, trying to reach there on a 460 is almost "mission impossible".
