Throttle Linkage Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a question I hope someone out there can help me with.

The throttle linkage on my Edelbrock carburetor keeps falling off. Please see the pic for details:

I'm trying to find out - what is missing in these parts that makes it come off?

Currently, the little black rubber boot has a slot in it that the threaded rod coming out of the carburetor goes into.

But, there is a nut on that threaded rod and it's not tightening up against anything.

Any help is appreciated, as it came off recently while driving, forcing me to pull into a nearby parking lot at idle to try and resolve.

Thanks.

The "rubber boot" is designed to go on a ball on the end of a stud. Most of the parts stores I've been in carry a selection thereof, so buy a pack, find the right size, and put it where the current stud is.

It looks like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Quadrajet-Edelbrock-1-4-Throttle-Ball-Stud-Chevy-GM-Ford-Chrysler-AMC/192683219882?hash=item2cdcd09baa:g:wn0AAOSw0KFaqkoo:rk:13:pf:0
